3 Ways to Tie a Scarf Top

Bandana tops were cool in the 90’s, but it looks like they’re making a comeback in the 2020’s, too. But, instead of buying a “scarf top” for $40+, I thought I would show you three easy ways to tie a scarf for the same look. (The bonus is this scarf is $8 on Amazon and comes in tons of colors).

Ways to Tie

• Halter top – For this look, you’ll need either a chain necklace, another scarf, or some other way to tie around your neck.
  • Instructions:
    1. Fold your scarf in half so it make a triangle
    2. Take the two corners from the tip of the triangle and tie a small knot around your necklace
    3. Readjust so the knot is hidden under the front side of the scarf
    4. Gather the remaining fabric on either side of the ‘triangle’ and tie around your back

• Classic Bandana Top – This look is the easiest and 90-est look of the three
  • Instructions:
    1. Fold your scarf in half so it make a triangle
    2. With the triangle facing down, wrap the scarf around your chest so that the triangle is in the front
    3. Tie the ends of the scarf in the back
    4. Yup, thats it

• Tie Front Top – This look is super cute with some high waisted bottoms. Tying the knot around your bra or bandeau will give you extra security from it falling down.
  • Instructions:
    1. Fold your scarf in half so it make a triangle
    2. With the triangle facing down, wrap the scarf around your chest so that the triangle is in the back
    3. Cross the two ends of the scarf over each other in front of your chest
    4. Loop one end of the scarf around your bra or bandeau
    5. Tie a knot with the two ends
    6. Reposition the scarf fabric so it covers your bra or bandeau
