Small Business Holiday Gift Guide

With the economic hardships that COVID-19 has brought, many small businesses are struggling to make ends meet. Now more than ever is a great time to consider supporting small businesses as you do your holiday shopping.

I wanted to put together a list of some great small businesses and gift ideas to make shopping them even easier. Many of these businesses are run by my friends (both real life and virtual) and I know your support would mean the world to them and their families. Underneath the collage I have included some information on each of these shops to give you an idea of who you support when you shop small and local ♥

  1. Driftwood Point – Run by Husband and Wife team Mark and Kaylee Munoz, Driftwood point creates custom signs and other woodworking products. Bonus, Kaylee is an Aggie too!
  2. The Scientist Co. – Arielle is a fellow PhD student passionate about both her research on Type 1 Diabetes, but also experimenting! She created The Scientist Co. which specializes in soaps, candles, and other home goods. The company is very eco-conscious and supports various research organizations with their sales. Plus, she’s literally doing a PhD and running a business – serious girl power.
  3. Local Hive Honey – I stumbled across this company and had to put them on my list. They specialize in ‘local’ honey from different locations around the U.S. They partner with small American beekeepers around the country as well as spread information on the importance of honey bees. Check out their site not only for amazing honey, but great information on pollinator education and conservation resources.
  4. Kota Knives – Dakota is my best friends brother who has spent years studying to become a bladesmith. He is an absolute artist and craftsman who makes beautiful knives for culinary, hunting, and utility purposes. Check out some of his work on his website and contact him to commission a custom piece.
  5. Silent Flight Studios – Silent flight studios is run by a friend of mine from college named Montana. She creates gorgeous handmade sea glass jewelry from sea glass she has collected in her and her partner’s many adventures. When they’re not making jewelry, they work in ocean conservation and education to spread the message of how amazing the ocean really is.
  6. Farm to Street Chic Boutique – Farm to Street Chic is an online boutique started by a woman named Tabitha. Her mission is to empower women to embrace their natural beauty regardless of the amount of time and energy they put into their ‘look’ for the day. She aims to provide multipurpose pieces that can take some of the effort out getting ready. She has all types of clothing and accessories available on her site!
  7. Grounds and Hounds Coffee Co. – A company that is very close to my heart, Grounds and Hounds was started with the purpose to support rescue initiatives and organizations providing a second chance for pups in need. Their coffee is organic and eco-friendly and 20% of profits go towards rescue organizations. Plus, they have super cute merch too!
  8. Laura Lynn Pottery – Laura runs an Etsy shop that makes customizable handmade functional and decorative fine art ceramics. She does name personalization to portraits on her pieces!
  9. Timber Made Shop – Timber Made is an Etsy shop run by Jon and Bre that specializes in custom personalized gifts and unique wood home décor. I just cannot get over how beautiful their custom cutting boards are like the one I shared in the photo above.
  10. Coastal Laser Works – Coastal Laser Works is a custom laser engraving and cutting shop run by our friend Eddie. He can personalize just about any cup or metal item you want and will work with you on any custom designs!
  11. Indigo Closet Boutique – I’ve worked with this boutique now for about six months and am blown away by the care and attention of the owners. They specialize in affordable trendy pieces and employ a team of women’s fashion stylists readily available to help you with any styling help you need!
  12. Handmade By Jenn Design – Jenn is a new friend of mine who is based out of New Jersey. Her Etsy shop specializes in handmade, one-of-a-kind customizable jewelry, tie dye and paperie. She is such a kind soul and is so eager to work with you to design exactly what you want. Check out her shop for ideas or message her with one of your own!
  13. Gift Cards – Last but not least, consider supporting some of your local businesses (especially those not online) by purchasing gift cards. I can only begin to scratch the surface with this blog post of amazing small businesses and there are many more in your own communities.

I hope this guide gave you some ideas on some smaller businesses you could support! If you’re looking for more gift guides, check out my others here! And, don’t forget to save some extra $$$ with these tips.
