Boho Bridesmaid Boxes

I officially have my bridesmaids! Which means I can finally share my bridesmaids boxes with you.

When I got engaged, one of my first thoughts was: who was I going to ask to stand next to me at our wedding. At the end of the day, being surrounded by your people is the most important part. But – I still wanted to ask those people with something cute! I wanted something unique, true to my personal style, but also affordable knowing that I was going to have lot of expenses coming up.

Like most, I had thought about colors and décor and the overall feel I wanted for our wedding. My vibe was definitely boho/garden-esque with lots of greenery and dried florals. For the boxes though I decided to stick with a more neutral scheme. So I first grabbed some affordable white boxes on Amazon. And some filler paper from Michaels as a base. You can get the same shredded paper on Amazon, but I found it was a little more expensive there. A 1 lb bag filled 6 of the boxes.

For the goodies I decided on a succulent (I had to have some type of plant), a *homemade* candle (more on that fiasco later), and some chocolates:

  • Succulents – My favorite place to order high quality and affordable succulents is from Mountain Crest Gardens. They have everything from $2 plugs to rare succulents. Plus they ship fast and I have never had any issues with damage during shipping. I went with the Blue Atoll Echeveria because they’re pretty, easy to care for, and are short so the box would still shut.
  • Candles – So I had this brilliant idea that I would make my own candles. I will still link up the materials I used, but let me tell you – Dilan helped me and it took us nearly 4 hours for 2 candles, and they didn’t come out 100% how I wanted. I had some issues with the wax cracking in the jar as it cooled which may have been because of the type of wax I used. But, they still smell great (I used a rose fragrance oil), and they’re functional. Obviously you could skip the hassle and buy a made candle too.
  • Initial Stickers – For my birthday I got a Cricut and I already have so many plans for wedding DIYs. I used Canva to make the floral initials (look up “elegant letter m with flowers” for this style) and then moved them into the Cricut design space as a cut design. I thought it gave a nice personal touch.
  • Chocolate – I went with Hershey’s dark chocolate nugget. I picked them because 1. dark chocolate and 2. they were gold.

The last thing I did was create a faux polaroid for the top of the box. I wanted to pick funny photos I had with each friend. In the case of my sister, I used a photo from when we were kids. I created a template here in case you wanted to replicate the design!

Here are all the items I used:

What do you think? Would you say yes? How did you ask your bridesmaids?
