I’m the type of person who doesn’t believe that something has to be expensive to be good. I definitely have some favorite prestige brands, but I also have a ton of favorites I can get right from Target or the grocery store. I rounded up some of these tried-and-trues below:
- Foundation – L’oreal Infallible Pro-Glo: This is a great foundation for lighter build-able coverage. If you’re someone who struggles with oily skin, there is also a ‘pro-matte’ version. But I do find that the Pro-glow really isn’t very dewy as a finish. Overall, I love that it lets my skin breathe and the shade 207 Sand Beige fits my skin tone perfectly.
- Concealer – Maybelline Instant Age Rewind: I really love this as a budget concealer. The applicator on the stick is actually a sponge so you can dab it on, but I still blend with a beauty blender. I’ve been using shade 120 light but may go one darker if I have a better tan!
- Powder – Maybelline Fit Me! Matte + Poreless: My skin tends to get more oily throughout the day, especially with the summer humidity. I love this powder on top of my foundation to control oil, especially around my t-zone. You could also wear it by itself if you want a quick powder foundation. Also comes in translucent instead of colored! I’ve been using shade 230 Natural Buff.
- Bronzer – Nyx Matte Bronzer: I’m not a fan of shimmery bronzers which is why I love this one! It’s not orange-y at all either. Just a good, easy to blend, matte bronzer. I’ve been loving the shade deep.
- Lash Primer – L’oreal Voluminous Primer: Two words – game changer. This is by far my favorite ever drug store product (and available at my grocery store). Using this before mascara makes my lashes soooo much bigger. If you aren’t using a primer, you should definitely get on that!
- Mascara – Maybelline Rocket Volume: I find that the brush on the Rocket Volume mascara really helps to separate out your lashes making them seem long and full. Just a great overall mascara!
- Brushes – Elf: Finally, brushes. Elf overall has some good but affordable brushes that you can buy separately or in a pack. I specifically tagged this pressed powder brush which I love. Definitely a good option for affordable makeup tools!
