Spring Outfit Ideas

In honor of my birthday and me wishing that I could go out and celebrate, I put together some spring outfit ideas. Maybe these can inspire some looks when we’re all out of quarantine?

Working with a graduate student budget sometimes doesn’t support the purchases of clothes regularly. So, I try to mix some older pieces in my closet with my newer ones. You can shop all the looks at the end through my LiketoKnowit! Anything that can’t be linked there is linked in the post!

Look #1

My first outfit would be good for before the weather gets warmer. And I am in love with this crochet cropped shirt from Vici! You can chose how cropped you want it by cinching it up or down with the tie in the front. Because it’s crocheted, it’s not nearly as heavy as a sweater, or even a long sleeve shirt, because the holes make it airy. It is also not as see-through as I worried it would be. I’m wearing a nude bralette from Aerie and it can’t be seen at all. I paired it with a pair of cropped distressed high-waisted jeans from American Eagle. My shoes I originally bought from Lucky Brand to match a dress for a wedding, but they are super comfortable! Still a block heel, so they’re easier to walk in, but the heel is tapered to give it less of a chunky look.

Look #2

I love this outfit because it still incorporates tie-dye while staying relatively neutral with colors. This jean jacket from Zara was a Christmas gift and I’ve worn it so many times since getting it! I have broader shoulders and it is pretty fitted with a little stretch. If you like your jackets looser, you might want to size up (I’m wearing a medium). These RSQ shorts are good white staple shorts from Tilly’s and really inexpensive. My tie-dye tee, which I’m also in love with because it’s so soft, is an American Eagle TJ Maxx find. Unfortunately they don’t carry it online, but there were tons at TJs if you wanted to find it! Finally, these shoes are so comfortable and from Target! I like the espadrilles sandal trend because they make me taller without having to balance in heels lol. I walked a good portion of Daytona in these and had no issues.

Look #3

First I want to start with these booties, because they are my new favorite. They are the Vanessa Snakeskin Bootie from Vici. They are super light and comfy, and even though they’re printed, the colors are neutral and easy to match. Be warned though, they run very big. I had to size down a full size (I am wearing an 8). I tried to style the rest of this look around the shoes. My shorts are my staple black denim shorts again from American Eagle. I think I may have an American Eagle problem… My sweater is a bit of a throwback and is from Charlotte Russe – but I linked some similar styles below. Finally, this hat is from Target. I’m not a huge hat wearer but I really love how they can complete a look. I added a pin too to give it a little personal touch.

Look #4

This final look is definitely comfy, cute, and casual. But would you believe this tank is from Walmart? It is from their No Boundaries brand. The tank is wicked soft and is only $3 – I will take one in every color please. I linked a similar style below because apparently the spaghetti strap style isn’t available online. My jeans are, you guessed it, American Eagle. What can I say? When you find jeans that fit, you stick with them. My shoes were another TJ Maxx find and are Blowfish brand. Very comfortable and have a good thick sole in case you’re going to be doing some walking. They come in a bunch of different colors and you can buy them online from a variety of stores (including Amazon). Also, in case anyone was wondering, my phone case is from Loopy Cases. Pop sockets always seemed to un-stick from my case, but on these the loop is built in. Really saves me from dropping my phone!
